Overview
The Mirrorless Extra Small 25 Core Unit was built specifically for our narrower 25-liter backpack sizes. The XS25 offers more modular carry options for users of Shimoda's 25L packs who want to carry a smaller amount of gear than fits in the S25. This frees up more space for non-photo adventure/survival gear essentials.
The XS25 is the smallest Core Unit in the series and is ideal for a body and a lens or two, or for users who have a compact camera body and handful of smaller prime lenses. The side-access port means you can set up your gear configuration to have quick and easy access to a mounted body and lens without needing to put your pack down. This is especially convenient in challenging and uneven terrain, or for wet environments where you need to keep your pack on your body.
We call them Core Units simply because they’re the Core of the Shimoda system. Their modular versatility lets users customize their gear carrying needs with different sized camera inserts for different days, and to get more out of their backpack. The Mirrorless XS25 is ideal for smaller gear needs, but swapping out for one of the two larger 25-series Core Unit options gives you the ability to make a 25L pack "bigger" just by changing to a larger Core Unit.
