  • Compatibility: Designed to fit the Shimoda Action X30 Backpack and to maximize equipment storage from top to bottom in the pack. Allows the X30 to fit lenses as long as 18.1 inches (46 cm), such as the Sony 200-600mm, Nikon 180-600mm, Canon 200-800mm, Fuji 150-600mm, and OM 150-600mm. Fits these superzoom lenses even when attached to a camera body. NOTE: RST Core Units are not compatible with Shimoda Explore series backpacks.
  • Adjustable Camera Clip Height: The mounting strip offers 20 cm (8 in) of height adjustment, allowing creators to dial-in a perfect fit that complements the height of the user
  • Simpler, Easier Clip Mounting: The mounting strip has no bulk or thickness to work around, so attaching a camera clip is easier than ever before.
  • Lightweight Water-Resistant & Multi-purpose Skin – The included Skin’s primary function is a storage case for the padded Core Units, ideal for when your gear is at home and not in use. It keeps the Core Unit sealed and dust free. Its secondary function is to use as a packing cell. A user can fill it with clothing or other common items and pack it in their backpack or carry-on roller.
  • EVA Protective Shell and Dividers – Walls and dividers are constructed with EVA which ensures much greater protection than cheaper PE foams used in most camera bags. With EVA we have greater control over the density and quality of materials used to protect your gear. It also means our walls can be thinner and use less internal volume while still providing superior protection.

Overview

RST series Core Units allow creators to carry and access the maximum amount of gear on demanding terrain, while still maintaining Shimoda's signature comfort and reliability. RST is acronym for the Core Unit’s Rear, Side and Top access points. With the RST30 (Mirrorless - XL30) Core Unit, you can use the Rear access to get to all your gear, the Side for quick access to your camera without putting your pack down, or the Top to access longer mounted superzoom lens without opening the rear door. The RST30 was specially designed to fill the entire main compartment of the Action X30 backpack, which allows the pack to fit and protect lenses as long as 18.1 inches (46 cm), such as the Sony 200-600mm, Nikon 180-600mm, Canon 200-800mm, Fuji 150-600mm, and OM 150-600mm. Fits these superzoom lenses even when attached to a camera body. NOTE: RST Core Units are not compatible with Shimoda Explore series backpacks. We call them Core Units simply because they’re the Core of the Shimoda system. Their modular versatility lets users customize their gear carrying needs with different sized camera inserts for different days, and to get more out of their backpack. While the RST30 carries the maximum amount of gear an X30 can handle, having the ability to swap out the Core Unit for smaller ones gives you the flexibility to use the best Core Unit size for the adventure ahead.
